Eben kam die folgende email von der Schule. Ich hatte auch vergessen, daß es heute keine bagels in der Schule gibt und holte Marlon und Trixi ab und wir gingen aus für lunch! Was da für eine mögliche Notfallsituation in der Gegend stattgefunden haben könnte, werde ich vielleicht von der Kindern später erfahren...
Hier gewitterte es schon die ganze letzte Nacht und auch jetzt ist wieder draußen Weltuntergangsstimmung!
Dear Franklin Parents,
This is to let you know about two events that took place, unexpectedly, at Franklin School today:
1. The last bagel day, as posted in the Franklin Flyer was June 3rd. Today approximately 80 students came to school without lunch. As soon as we discovered this, we sent an e-mail to all parents so that they could bring lunch, if possible. We then called Bagel Chateau and ordered bagels for those who did not have a lunch.
2. In the midst of this, the Westfield Police called us and directed us to bring all of our students, into the building due to a possible emergency situation in the area. After 15 minutes, the modified lockdown was no longer necessary. Coincidentally, we had our scheduled monthly lockdown at 10:15 this morning.
Thanks to our amazing staff of secretaries, nurses, paraprofessionals, lunch supervisors, teachers and lunch aides, all went well.
